You Can Be An Agent of Change!

• Are you concerned about social issues like education, violence or the economy?
• Do you have ideas about how to create solutions, but feel like no one's listening?
• Do you want to be part of the solution but don't know where to start?

MCCOY's Youth Advocacy Council (YAC) wants you!  We are looking for interested and energetic youth to be part of a dynamic group that will help make central Indiana a great place where young people can make a difference and thrive! Fill out our online application to get involved!

The Fine Print:

• Central Indiana High School students, grades 9-12
• Must go through an application and interview process
• Student must agree to commit to the Youth Advocacy Council for 1 year
• Must attend all 4 full Council meetings per year
• Must attend 75% of individual committee meetings which will meet on a bi-monthly basis

The Details:

Members of the YAC will:

• Help MCCOY be effective and relevant in its initiatives related to youth and families in central Indiana.
  • Tell us your ideas!
  • How can we stay in tune with the community's needs?
• Get involved in MCCOY's events and projects related to youth and families.
  • Help with Own Yours, our public awareness campaign, to help improve high school graduation rates!
• Learn how to advocate on behalf of youth issueswith elected officials and community leaders.
  • Provide testimony to state legislative committees!
  • Meet with community leaders to share your concerns and formulate solutions!
